To be acceptable to research users an access panel must:

  • Be recruited offline – not online.
  • Adhere to all existing privacy laws whereby participants agree to be interviewed in subsequent research projects.
  • Be based on random selection of statistical subdivisions and within those areas a representative sample of postcodes and corresponding postal rounds.
  • Coverage of all households in the selected postal round.
  • Provide details on other household members.
  • Aim to deliver around 10% recruitment rate
  • Allow for foreign language versions in new immigrant suburbs
  • Reflect the universe of all people prepared to complete a market research survey.

These elements are the basis of OMP’s Access Panels
